  • KMC sets May 15 deadline for trade license renewal

  • DIMAPUR — The Kohima Municipal Council has informed that, in continuation of the circular dated April 8, all concerned business establishments and institutions within the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) jurisdiction must apply for or renew their trade license for the year 2025-2026 on or before May 15. It stated that intensive trade license inspections will be conducted by KMC from May 16 onwards, and defaulters will incur a penalty of INR 2,000, along with other applicable late fines.

  • Transport firms asked to contact GPRN/NSCN (U)

  • DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NSCN (U) informed all individuals and proprietors managing transport companies to either consult in person or contact the Ministry of Chaplee Affairs at 916909625173 within seven days in order to appropriate the minimal tax levied on freight vehicles, stating that it is their indispensable right to carry forward the Naga Revolutionary Movement. It added that wilful defiance of this directive will not be tolerated, and stringent action will be initiated as deemed necessary.

  • Committee on Papers Laid to meet May 12

  • DIMAPUR — Tongpang Ozukum, Advisor for Water Resources and chairperson of the Committee on Papers Laid on the Table, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, has convened a meeting of the Committee on May 12 at 11:00 am in the C Chongshen Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat. Members of the committee have been requested to attend the meeting as scheduled.

  • Mock drill held at Mokokchung GIS sub-station

  • DIMAPUR — The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Mokokchung conducted a one-day training on safety-cum-mock drill at the Power Grid, 220/132 Kv Mokokchung GIS sub-station on Monday. According to a DIPR report, the training was imparted to the employees of Power Grid, AMC personnel, drivers, fitters, and security guards in the event of any emergency circumstances, such as basic life support (BLS), fire, earthquake, accidents, etc.

  • Applications open for Governor's Award in Mon district

  • DIMAPUR — The district cultural officer, Mon, has informed all the citizens of Mon district that applications are invited for the Governor’s Award 2025 from talented individuals, groups, and organisations with significant impacts in the fields of music, arts, and literature. Applications may be submitted to the District Cultural Office, Mon, on or before May 8. According to a DIPR report, the district-level selection committee will scrutinise applications and forward deserving ones to the state-level selection committee for final selection.

  • Power shutdown in Mon district from May 5

  • DIMAPUR — Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Pakon Phom, has informed all concerned that vegetation clearance for 132 kV and 66 kV transmission lines under the Transmission Division, Mokokchung, is scheduled for a power shutdown from May 5 to the 10th. According to a DIPR report, there will be a total shutdown of power from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on the specified days. The public has been appealed to extend cooperation and bear with the inconvenience during the shutdown period.
