Job fair in Kohima on March 31
DIMAPUR — The Sub-Regional Employment Office, National Career Service Centre for SC/ST Kohima, National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled Dimapur, Regional Employment Office (MCC) Kohima and Don Bosco Job Placement Network Dimapur will jointly organise a job fair in Kohima on March 31. According to an update, over 500 vacancies have been notified by different recruiting agencies from sectors including BPO ITeS, hospitality and tourism, banking, and education. Prominent participating companies include Chilli Breeze, Talent Acquaintance, SBI Life, Flywayy and Barbeque Nation. The organising team has invited categories of job seekers from HSLC passed and above to participate and avail the opportunity of being selected in the companies.
NSCN (YA) warns impersonators
The NSCN/GPRN (YA) has reported a disturbing case of individuals impersonating its members to extort money from government departments and business establishments in Kohima, Nagaland. In a press release, the group reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward impersonation, fraud, corruption, and exploitation, and stated that it takes such acts seriously. It clarified that all its financial activities are conducted only through proper and verified channels, not through any backdoor arrangements. The group also informed that, so far, it has not assigned or authorized any individual or group to collect funds in Kohima. It urged government officials, private businesses, and the public not to entertain anyone claiming to act on its behalf unless officially notified through newspapers or formal communication. It further warned that any financial transactions made in its name in Kohima district will be considered invalid.
Dimapur Police nab truck thieves
Dimapur Police have arrested two persons identified as Ashim Borah (38 year), resident of Bogijan under Golaghat district, Assam, and Amodoy Kumar (30), resident of Tihuri Basti in Karbi Anglong, Assam, in Bagijan village on Saturday. The duo was arrested basing on intelligence inputs on charges of theft of a truck bearing Registration No. AS-05-AC-8166 with 1700 cartons of rice brand oil. A police report stated that the duo was arrested following using technical surveillance and human intelligence. It added that the 1700 cartons of rice brand oil along with the truck have been confiscated. A case in this connection has been registered at Sub-Urban Police Station, Dimapur, the report added.
VAC leads outreach at Longwesunyu
Under the initiative of DPDB Tseminyu, the Village Adoption Committee (VAC) conducted awareness-cum-seminar at the community hall, Longwesunyu village, on March 26. According to a DIPR report, the programme was led by convenor, Mhathung Ngullie, EAC Tseminyu. Various departments such as Land Resources, Social Welfare, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Rural Development, Soil & Water Conservation, and Agriculture participated in the seminar. Farming tools, manure and lime, mosquito nets, etc. were distributed to the villagers. Livestock vaccination drive and medicines were also distributed during the programme. The VAC was constituted under the LADP Village Adoption Committee.
