NAWO condemns Kohima sex racket


DIMAPUR — The Northern Angami Women Organisation (NAWO) condemned the recently uncovered sex racket in Kohima, calling it “an assault on the dignity of women” and expressing shock over the involvement of minors. While appreciating the swift action of Kohima Police, NAWO in a note demanded zero tolerance, strict legal action, and no bail for those involved. The organisation urged authorities to act urgently and called on the community to remain vigilant, affirming that Kohima “will not be a safe ground for such evil.”


Polling stations in Kohima available for inspection


DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has announced that in connection with the rationalisation of polling stations under Kohima district, a draft list of polling stations in Annexure I has been prepared. According to a DIPR report, the list is available for inspection on the notice board and at the Election Branch, Office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Kohima. Any objections to the draft list should be submitted in writing to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, on or before September 24.

Dimapur DPDB meeting on September 22


DIMAPUR — The Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for September has been scheduled for September 22 at 11:00 am at the DC Conference Hall, Dimapur. According to a DIPR report, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of Dimapur DPDB, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, has requested all members to attend the meeting positively.


School Education department posts teachers list for checks


DIMAPUR — The Department of School Education has made available the details of primary teachers appointed with the professional qualification of B.Ed. degree during the period June 28, 2018 to August 10, 2023, as submitted by the DEOs/Sr. SDEOs/SDEOs, in the portal dosenl.in under the ‘downloads’ tab. According to a DIPR report, all concerned have been informed to verify the details and report omissions/errors, if any, along with copies of supporting documents in person to B Nellayappan, state nodal officer, NIOS Certificate Course in Primary Teacher Education, Room No. 411, Directorate of School Education, Nagaland, Kohima, or through email to sno.nios.nagaland@gmail.com on or before September 23. No request for inclusion of names after the last date will be entertained.

One-day GST training in Mon on September 18


DIMAPUR — The Office of the Assistant Commissioner of State Taxes, Mon, has notified that a one-day training on Goods and Services Tax (GST) for government department DDOs, dealers, taxpayers and stakeholders under Mon district will be held on September 18 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Mon. According to a DIPR report, all concerned DDOs, dealers, taxpayers and stakeholders have been requested to participate in the training.


GHSS Bhandari fetes Class 8 student


DIMAPUR — The Government Higher Secondary School, Bhandari, held a felicitation programme on Wednesday for Subeno Ngullie, a Class 8 student, for securing the second position at the State-level Inter-school Quiz Competition (Rashtriya Aviskar Abhiyan) held recently in Kohima. According to an update, the competition was organised by Samagra Shiksha, Department of School Education. Commending her achievement, the school administration assured her free admission and study support for the next academic session. She was also awarded cash and several other presentations.


NSCN (IM) recovers two-wheeler Scooty


DIMAPUR — The Union Territory (UT) personnel of NSCN (IM) recovered a black Suzuki Avenis two-wheeler bearing registration number NL07 EC 7902 from Burma Camp. The rightful owner has been informed to claim the vehicle by producing the original documents within seven days from the date of publication of this report. The concerned owner has been asked to contact the official on phone number 6909708962 for further information.


Ashah Chamngo apologises to NSCN (Angmai)


DIMAPUR — Ashah Chamngo, son of Panglong of Khammoi Longlo village, has sought an apology from the NSCN/GPRN (Angmai) for the rumours and false information allegedly circulated by an unidentified person using his name or identity regarding a meeting held at Longwa village between the Konyak Union (KU) and the Naga national workers from the GHQ and Konyak region, and also on the matter relating to receiving INR 47 crore from the Konyak Union/Indian government by the Naga Army GHQ in 2023. In an apology letter, Ashah Chamngo clarified that he was never a witness, nor did he have any knowledge about the meeting or about receiving INR 47 crore from the KU by the Naga Army (GHQ) or by anyone.
