Mass cleanliness drive held across Kiphire town
KIPHIRE — A mass social work was conducted across Kiphire town on Saturday as part of preparations for the Independence Day celebrations on August 15. The cleanliness drive commenced at 6 am following a circular issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire. Government departments, ward authorities, educational institutions, business establishments, civil society organisations, and members of the public actively participated in the campaign. The Assam Rifles also joined the drive on the theme, "Clean Kiphire, Green Kiphire," working alongside the district administration and local residents to clean roads, public spaces, office premises, and other key locations across the town. The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation and strong community cooperation, contributing to improved cleanliness and the overall appearance of the district headquarters in the run-up to the Independence Day celebrations. KV CRPF Kohima wins honours
DIMAPUR — Kendriya Vidyalaya, CRPF Kohima, secured the second position in the Tinsukia Region and the 44th rank nationally in the AISSE Class 10 Examination 2025-26, achieving a 100 per cent pass result. According to an update, principal in-charge of KV CRPF Kohima, Umesh Chandra, received the Trophy of Excellence at the Annual Principals' Conference held in Dibrugarh from July 13 to 15. The award was presented by T Pritam Singh, deputy commissioner of KV, Tinsukia Region. CRPF Camp Kohima DIG Rajesh Kumar congratulated the school, terming the achievement a reflection of the dedication and discipline of the students, teachers, staff, and parents. He urged the school leadership to sustain the momentum and aim for an improved national ranking in the coming years.
FGN informs on Naga I-Day
DIMAPUR — The Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will celebrate the 80th Nagaland Independence Day at Oking, Kohima, on August 14 at 10 am. In a press release, the FGN invited all to join the celebration. The FGN also requested all regions, sub-regions, communities, villages, churches and organisations to observe the historic day.
KSUD annual enrolment drive
DIMAPUR — The Khiamniungan Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) has informed the Khiamniungan student community that its annual membership and enrolment drive for 2026 will be conducted from August 1 to the 20th. The union has requested all students to enrol themselves with the KSUD office and be part of the student community. The union further directed all guardians of students residing in their households as domestic helpers to ensure that they are duly enrolled with the union without fail. It stated that non-compliance with the directive would be viewed seriously in accordance with the union's resolutions.
