EDTC enforces auto parking rules
DIMAPUR — The East Dimapur Town Council has informed all auto drivers operating under its jurisdiction to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations regarding the parking of auto rickshaws within the council area.
In a press release, the council directed all auto drivers to park their vehicles only at designated parking spaces authorised by the EDTC. It stated that random parking along roadsides, market areas, junctions, and other unauthorised locations causes traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public.
The council further informed that the Parking Councillor In-charge will oversee and monitor all matters related to parking management within the EDTC jurisdiction.
It warned that defaulters violating the parking regulations would be subjected to fines and penalties, and necessary action would be taken accordingly.
The council appealed to all concerned to cooperate in maintaining proper traffic discipline in the interest of public convenience and the smooth movement of vehicles.
Mass social work in Pfutsero on May 23
Additional Deputy Commissioner and Executive Officer, Pfutsero, Mhalo Humtsoe has informed that there will be a mass social work on May 23 from 6 am onwards focusing on clearing of drainage system in town, respective ward and offices in view of monsoon preparation. According to a DIPR report, all concerned under Pfutsero have been directed to extend co-operation during a mass social work.
Mass social work held in Medziphema
In view of the onset of the monsoon season and as part of pre-monsoon preparedness measures, a mass social work programme was conducted across Medziphema sub-division on Thursday. According to a DIPR report, government offices, institutions, village councils, GBs and members of the public actively participated in the drive. The activities carried out during the mass social work included clearance of construction materials and debris, unclogging of drainage systems, clearance of foliage and waste disposal, and cleaning of public spaces and utilities. The Medziphema Administration and the MTC extended assistance in clearing garbage and ensuring the smooth execution of the programme. The report stated that the mass social work was a success, with active participation from government offices, institutions, business establishments, village councils and the public.
KMC warns unlicensed businesses
The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has notified all business establishments within its jurisdiction that no person will be allowed to operate a business without obtaining a proper trade licence and import goods without an import permit. According to an order issued on Thursday by KMC Chief Executive Officer Alemyapang Longchar, defaulters will be strongly dealt with as per the law.
