  • East Dimapur shops can open Sundays

  • DIMAPUR — All business and shop owners under the East Dimapur Town Council jurisdiction are permitted to open on Sundays after 12 pm, starting from the month of May. In a notification by the council, it was stated that no shop should open before the specified time. Compliance with this directive is mandatory.

  • NLA committee to inspect Kohima rivers

  • DIMAPUR — The Committee on Environment and Climate Change of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, at its introductory meeting held on April 24 under the chairmanship of MLA and chairperson of the Committee on Environment and Climate Change, Achumbemo Kikon, has proposed conducting a spot verification of the rivers in Kohima on May 1: Dzüvurü, Vurierü, and Sanuorü. A DIPR report stated that all members of the committee have been requested to join the visit.

  • Runway India conducts banana fibre craft training

  • DIMAPUR — Runway India concluded a six-day skill development training on banana fibre craft paper making, held at Ahthibung and Jalukie, Peren district, from April 21 to the 26th. According to an update, a total of 50 individuals participated in the training programme, gaining practical skills in banana fibre processing and paper making through hands-on sessions and demonstrations. The training programme was supported by the Small Industries Development Bank of India, Dimapur, with local partner organisations Pink Blossom Society, Jalukie, and Haokholet Hengna Community Centre, Ahthibung.   • Animal Husbandry Dept. selects bull attendant, MTS

  • DIMAPUR — The Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, in pursuance of the advertisement dated February 18, 2025, and with the approval of the government on April 10, 2025, and based on the marks secured by the candidates in the oral interview, has selected candidates for the post of one bull attendant at VHC Chare, under the establishment of CVO Tuensang, and one post of multi-tasking staff (MTS) at VHC Lotsu, under the establishment of CVO Wokha. The candidates are T Chaobi Thonger, roll no. 11, bull attendant, and Khonbeno Ovung, roll no. 104, MTS.

  • BBBP, DHEW Niuland hold outreach programme

  • DIMAPUR — The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Niuland district, organised a movie screening and outreach programme at Aghunaqa Kukami Hoho Hall on April 25. The event aimed to promote awareness and empowerment among women. According to a DIPR report, EAC Kelengunuo, in her keynote address, emphasised the vision of Mission Shakti and the BBBP scheme.

  • DIMAPUR — A combined youth fellowship was held at Nepali Baptist Church, Kuda village, on April 27 in collaboration with Nepali Baptist Church, Walford; Dimapur Town Nepali Baptist Church, Duncan; Gorkha Baptist Church, Viola; and Gorkha Baptist Church, Thahekhu. According to an update, the theme was "Youth after God's own heart" (Psalm 119:9-16), focusing on spiritual growth and development.

  • KSCJ holds ‘Book Talk’ honouring Capt. Kengurüse

  • DIMAPUR — Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ), paid tribute to late Captain Neikezhakuo Kengurüse in a ‘Book Talk’ organised by his family in collaboration with the Literary Committee, KSCJ, on April 11. During the event, the captain’s younger brother spoke about his achievements and the man behind the uniform.

  • Norman Putsure College hosts career workshop

  • DIMAPUR — Norman Putsure College organised an interactive workshop on Monday featuring CISF Deputy Commandant Sandeep Kumar Yadav. According to a press release, during the session, Yadav provided detailed guidance on various competitive examinations and career pathways. The workshop was designed to inspire and equip students with essential life skills, strengthening their ability to tackle future challenges. The college administration emphasised the importance of such initiatives in broadening students' horizons and shaping their personal and professional growth.


  • Estimates Committee meeting today

  • DIMAPUR — Advisor for Soil and Water Conservation and IPR and chairperson of the Estimates Committee, Imkong L Imchen, has reminded all concerned members of the committee that a meeting will be held on April 29 at 11 am in the C Chongshen Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat, Kohima.

  • According to a DIPR report, the committee will conduct an introductory meeting cum oral evidence with the Department of Rural Development regarding the National Rural Livelihoods Mission, the Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission, and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin.

  • All members have been requested to attend and participate in the committee's business for the service of the public.
