Chümoukedima polling officials undergo training
DIMAPUR — A one-day training programme for polling personnel in connection with the upcoming by-election to Ward No. 11 of the Chümoukedima Town Council was held at the deputy commissioner's office, Chümoukedima, on Thursday. According to a DIPR report, the training was conducted in the presence of returning officer (RO) and ADC Chümoukedima, T Lemlila Sangtam, and assistant returning officer and EAC (HQ), Khriengunuo Theunuo. District-level master trainers briefed polling personnel on election procedures and their roles and responsibilities to ensure the smooth conduct of the poll. The RO appealed to candidates, political parties, ward councillors, civil society organisations and residents to cooperate in ensuring a peaceful, free and fair election. She also urged voters to exercise their democratic rights responsibly. The polling station for the by-election will be set up at Government Middle School, Chümoukedima, Block IV. Polling will be held on June 16 from 7:30 am onwards.
DPDB Kohima meeting on June 18
Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has informed all DPDB members that the monthly DPDB meeting will be held on June 18 at 11 am at the DPDB’s conference hall, Kohima. All members have been requested to take note of the scheduled timing and attend the meeting positively to facilitate the smooth conduct of board proceedings, a DIPR report stated.
EAC Mon informs on PMRBP 2026
Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Mon, Kedoseno Rino, has informed all concerned officers in Mon district regarding the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2026. In this connection, the officers have been requested to examine the matter, identify deserving and meritorious children below the age of 18 years within their respective jurisdictions for the PMRBP award, if any, and submit their details to the deputy commissioner's office for onward submission through the designated portal on or before July 20, 2026, a DIPR report stated. The PMRBP is conferred under six categories: Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art & Culture, and Science & Technology.
