Dikhu Bridge closed to all traffic
DIMAPUR — In view of the incessant rainfall and the consequent rise in water levels that have triggered severe flooding in and around Naginimora sub-division, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Naginimora, has prohibited all movement over the Dikhu Bridge connecting Naginimora and Longleng with immediate effect until further orders. According to the advisory, the bridge has been severely affected by floodwaters and is at imminent risk of collapse, posing a serious threat to public safety. The restriction applies to all forms of traffic, including pedestrians, two-wheelers, light motor vehicles, heavy vehicles, and all other modes of transport. The administration has cautioned that anyone violating the advisory will do so at their own risk and will be liable for action under the relevant provisions of law. CUET-UG counselling postponed
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has informed that the CUET-UG Counselling 2026, earlier scheduled for July 23, has been postponed to July 28. According to a notification issued by the directorate, the counselling will be held at 10:30 am in the conference hall of the Directorate of Technical Education, Kohima. The rescheduling has been made in the interest of students and candidates. The directorate stated that the list of provisionally selected candidates and eligible candidates from the final merit list has been uploaded on the department's website and displayed on the office notice board. Candidates placed between serial nos. 1 and 500 in the State CUET-UG 2026 merit list have been directed to attend the counselling on the scheduled date. It further informed that failure to attend the counselling will be treated as a refusal of the allotted seat.
