Chümoukedima district village councils to meet on June 25
DIMAPUR — Forum for Village Councils, Chümoukedima block, has convened a meeting of all the village councils under Chümoukedima district on June 25 at 11 am at Chümoukedima village council hall. In an update, the forum informed that the meeting will discuss important issues, including implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP), Rules for Administration of Justice and Police in Nagaland (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2025, and other matters pertaining to the welfare of the villages. The forum requested all village council chairmen, head GBs, GBs, presidents of village youth organisation and chairpersons of village women organisations in the district, to attend the meeting.
DDADU president clarifies remarks on molestation case
DIMAPUR — Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers' Union (DDADU) president Tito Yepthomi has clarified that his recent press conference remarks were made responsibly and were based on information as received. Responding to the Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation's demand for an apology, DDADU president Tito Yepthomi clarified that his remarks regarding the June 15 molestation case were not intended to harm anyone involved in the investigation or further traumatise the victim, as alleged by WCYO.
“I hold the WCYO in high regard and appreciate your concern. Please accept my sincere clarification and my commitment to working together for the betterment of our community,” it added.

DDCF condoles Aye’s demise
DIMAPUR — The Dimapur District Citizens' Forum (DDCF) has condoled the death of Holuto Aye, vice president of Naga Council Dimapur and former vice president of DDCF. In a condolence message, the forum stated that Aye’s demise has created a big vacuum among the citizens of Dimapur. According to the DDCF, Aye was a rare leader, a man known for his simplicity, humility, and devotion to God, who stood for every person regardless of colour, tribe, or religion.
NCSU condoles Phanglou’s passing
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union (NCSU) has condoled the death of Phanglou Chang, father of Minister Bashangmongsang Chang. In a condolence message, the union stated that Phanglou was a respected elder whose life was marked by integrity, wisdom, and humility. “His passing is not only a personal loss to the family but also a great loss to the community,” it stated.
