Advisor Picto Shohe visits power sites
DIMAPUR — The Advisor to the Chief Minister for New & Renewable Energy, Picto Shohe, conducted field visits to two major power projects in Niuland and Peren districts on June 13. According to an update, Shohe reviewed the 10 MW Solar Power Plant at Hovukhu village in Niuland district and the 2x75 KW Noiroi Stage-II Hydro Electric Project at Punglwa village in Peren district. The advisor held detailed interactions with department officials to take stock of the status of the projects and departmental activities across the state.
Nienu inaugurates cemetery in Phek
The Phek village community cemetery at Kalozi, Phek, was inaugurated by Advisor for Science & Technology Kuzholuzo Nienu on June 12. According to an update, Nienu said that the project, which had long been a cherished dream of the village, was realised because of the unity and oneness of the community. He called for ensuring clean and proper maintenance of the cemetery. In his speech, Phek Village Council (PVC) chairman Thupuve Vero lauded Nienu for his contribution towards the welfare and overall development of the village, including extending help to poor and needy people. Vero announced that the PVC, along with its constituents Phek Basa, Chosaba and Surhoba, would always stand by Nienu's leadership, irrespective of party affiliation. The programme was led by Veshe Chizo, while the financial report was presented by Veta Soho. The Phek village community cemetery was constructed and initiated by Nienu through the PVC and various other social organisations.
PwD placement drive held
A placement drive for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) was held at the National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (NCSCDA), Purana Bazar, Dimapur, on June 12. According to an update, the placement drive was organised by the NCSCDA Dimapur, under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Directorate General of Employment (DGE), Government of India, in collaboration with Vishal Mega Mart, Dimapur, as the employer. The event aimed to provide a platform for job seekers, particularly unemployed youth with disabilities, to connect with prospective employers. More than 35 PwD candidates, including alumni of NCSCDA Dimapur, attended the interview. Of them, 12 candidates were shortlisted by the employer, it stated.
The Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, K Mhathung Tsanglao, has issued a traffic advisory in view of the polling scheduled for June 16 for the election to Ward 8 (Tsumang B) of Wokha Town Council. According to the advisory, entry of all vehicles, both private and government, beyond the Deputy Commissioner's Office gate, Wokha, will be restricted from 6 am until the polling process is over on June 16 to ensure the free, fair and smooth conduct of the election. The traffic advisory has been issued to all concerned for strict compliance.
