DC Tuensang issues travel advisory
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, has issued a travel advisory following damage to National Highway-202 near New Tsaru village due to landslides triggered by heavy rainfall. According to the advisory, the highway at Chainage 41.00 km has been severely damaged, rendering the stretch unsafe and vulnerable to the movement of heavy vehicles. In view of the prevailing condition, the movement of all heavy vehicles and loaded commercial vehicles has been restricted with immediate effect. Only light motor vehicles will be permitted to pass through the affected stretch, with commuters advised to exercise caution. Vehicles and commuters seeking alternative connectivity have been advised to use the following routes: Thonger–Alisopur–Longmisa–Mokokchung road, Yangli–Yehemi road, and Tuensang–Longleng road.
Patton congratulates Justice Mozhui
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has congratulated Justice Nchumbemo Mozhui on his swearing-in as an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court. In a statement, Patton said the elevation brings “genuine joy and pride” to the people of Nagaland. He noted that Justice Mozhui’s distinction as one of the youngest High Court judges from the state makes the occasion particularly significant. Patton expressed confidence that Justice Mozhui’s journey would inspire young Nagas aspiring to pursue careers in law and the judiciary. The deputy CM also conveyed his best wishes to Justice Mozhui as he assumes the responsibility, wishing him “wisdom, strength and success” in upholding justice and the Constitution of India.
Niuland power lines to shut down
Deputy Commissioner of Niuland, TL Kiusumong Tikhir, has informed the public that vegetation clearance along 11KV power lines under the Electrical Section, Niuland, will be carried out as per schedule. The Niuland-Aghunaqa 11KV feeder will remain shut down on September 11 from 6 am to 12 noon to facilitate the clearance work. The Yankili feeder is scheduled for vegetation clearance on September 18 from 6 am to 12 noon. The deputy commissioner requested all head GBs, VCCs and VEMBs to extend necessary assistance in carrying out the clearance work along the 11KV lines falling under their respective jurisdictions. The power supply will remain shut down during the clearance periods, and the public has been requested to bear with the inconvenience caused by the shutdown.
The NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato) has terminated the service of Maj. Chomangli Mongzar alias Aliba, son of Hopongse of Sangsomong village, for repeated unlawful activities detrimental to the NSCN principles, despite being served with several warnings. In a statement, the organisation stated that the termination order, which comes into immediate effect, was signed by Maj. Gen. Howoto Yeptho, C-in-C of Naga Army. The terminated individual has been further warned not to interfere in the affairs of the NSCN, while the public has been cautioned not to entertain him, as he is no longer associated with the organisation.
Tseminyu holds Utsav meeting
The District Level Coordination Committee meeting under Phase-I of the Governance Framework of Reform Utsav was held on Thursday at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Tseminyu. Limawabang Jamir, Secretary of the Social Welfare Department and Nodal Officer for Kohima, Tseminyu and Wokha districts, attended the meeting to brief officials and coordinate the implementation of the initiative in the district, a DIPR report stated. During the meeting, Theodase Yanthan, Joint Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the Governance Framework of Reform Utsav. All district-level officers of Tseminyu district were present at the meeting.
Mon offices urged to nominate ODEs
Extra Assistant Commissioner, Mon, Kedoseno Rino, has informed all concerned about the nomination of state government employees as Other Departmental Employees (ODEs) under the Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) schemes. In this regard, government departments and offices in the district have been requested to nominate one willing employee from each department or office at the tehsil/block level as an Other Departmental Employee for promoting and procuring PLI and RPLI policies, a DIPR report stated.
