  • Labour department appoints AA, PIO


  • DIMAPUR — The Department of Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, has appointed Appellate Authority (AA), Public Information Officer (PIO) and Assistant Public Information Officer (APIO) for the department. According to a DIPR report, the designated officers are Sotsula (AA & Commissioner & Secretary), Phuleshe K Yepthomi (PIO & Joint Secretary) and Khriezolie Vimero (APIO & Section Officer).   • DC Phek issues monsoon alert

  • DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner and chairman of District Disaster Management Authority, Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, has warned of potential waterlogging, flash floods, landslides, and rising water levels in Phek district's lowlands and foothills due to monsoon rainfall. In an advisory, the DC advised general public to refrain from venturing out to the river banks for picnic, fishing, etc. Further, all area administrative officers, department heads, VDMCs, village council chairmen, head GBs, and ward authorities are instructed to be on high alert and prepared to respond to emergencies and disasters during the monsoon season.

  • Longleng conducts cleanliness drive

  • DIMAPUR — As part of the monsoon preparedness, a mass cleanliness drive was conducted on Tuesday in Longleng town, Tamlu town, and in all administrative headquarters and villages under Longleng district. All departments, wards, civil society organisations and citizens of Longleng district actively participated in the cleanliness drive, with special emphasis on drainage blockage clearance, an official bulletin stated.

  • Plantation drive in Peren district

  • DIMAPUR — In view of the World Environment Day, DC Peren Hiazu Meru has informed that there will be a tree plantation drive and mass social work on June 5. As per DIPR, the DC instructed all office heads in Peren district to ensure strict attendance and compliance, with a mandatory assembly at Beikingpuichak at 8 pm. The DC also requested departments to mobilise resources, including machinery and tools, and arrange refreshments for their teams.

  • NSCN (Niki) terminates cadre

  • DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has terminated Tsiaratho Nyuwi, son of Tatar Nurusle Nyuwi of Meluri town, from active national service on ground of indulging in “anti social activities despite repeated warning from the competent authority.” The termination order comes into force with immediate effect, the MIP, NSCN (Niki) stated. In a separate order, the Ato Kilonser's office also discharged Deputy Kilonser Bitong Sangtam, son of Lt. Imtilemba Sangtam of Tuensang town from the active national service on personal issue. “He is informed to submit his discharge order to the concerned office of the National Tatar Hoho (NTH) immediately from the date of receipt of this order,” it stated.
