DC Kohima issues traffic advisory
DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner of Kohima has informed that in view of the retrieval operation of pontoon cargo from the accident site near the FCI Godown, Phesama, the section of NH-2 shall remain completely closed to all forms of traffic from 12 midnight on February 15 to 5am of February 16. In an order, the DC stated that all LMVs shall be diverted towards Phesama-Pfuchama-Lerie-NH-2. However, movement of all heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) will remain completely suspended. All commuters have been requested to plan their journey accordingly and avoid the affected section of NH-2 during the closure period.
AKM condoles Takotiba’s passing
The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has condoled the untimely passing of Takotiba Jamir, education secretary of the Ongpangkong Students’ Conference, who passed away on February 13. In a condolence message, the AKM described Takotiba as a visionary leader, a committed educationist at heart, and a tireless servant of the student community. “His dedication, integrity, and unwavering passion for the uplift of students’ reflected the true spirit of selfless leadership. In every responsibility he carried, he exemplified courage, humility, and an unshakeable sense of duty,” the message read.
DPDB Tseminyu meet on February 19
The district planning officer and member secretary of District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Tseminyu, has informed all the concerned members that the monthly DPDB meeting will be held on February 19 at 12 noon at the DC’s conference hall, Tseminyu. All the board members have been requested to attend the meeting positively, a DIPR report stated.
NZYO, NZWO get new office bearers
The Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organisation (NZPO) inducted new office bearers of Nagaland Zeliang Youth Organization (NZYO) and Nagaland Zeliang Women’s Organisation (NZWO) for the tenure 2026‑2029, on February 14 at Women Welfare Hall, Jalukie town, Peren. The new NZYO executives are Ngautube R Chamlak (president), Kibouwi Zeliang (general secretary), Machi Reunim (finance secretary), and Haiphan Pame (treasurer). The NZWO executives included Aswangle Herie (president), Dubuiliu Newmai (general secretary), Adin Chawang (treasurer0, and Dibamleule Thou (finance secretary), an update stated. The programme was chaired by Ernest Sephe, vice president of NZPO; invocation was delivered by Rev. Kuzeirang Thou. Rev. Kuzeirang Thou blessed the new executives.
