NSF extends best wishes to students
DIMAPUR — The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has extended best wishes to all students appearing for the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2026. In a statement, the federation acknowledged the perseverance, discipline and hard work put in by the students throughout their preparation and urged them to approach the examinations with confidence, focus and determination. The NSF also appealed to the Power department to ensure uninterrupted and reliable electricity supply throughout the examination period, to create a conducive environment for students to perform to the best of their abilities. It further called upon the general public to extend their cooperation by maintaining peace and refraining from any activities that may disrupt the examination process. “A calm and disturbance-free atmosphere is essential for the mental well-being of students and enables them to concentrate fully on their examinations,” the federation stated.
Awareness programme on AI use
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, has informed that in connection with the observance of Safer Internet Day 2026, a district-level awareness programme on the theme ‘Smart tech, safe choices: Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.’ will be held on February 10 at DC’s conference hall, Dimapur, at 1pm. All heads of offices under Dimapur district have been informed and requested to depute three representatives from their respective offices, preferably women, to attend a coordination meeting in this regard, a DIPR report stated.
Assessment camp held in Tseminyu
An assessment camp for senior citizens and person with disabilities (Divyangjan) under Rashtriya Vayoshree Yojana (RVY) and Assistance to People with Disabilities (ADIP) scheme was held at PHC Chunlikha, Tseminyu, on Monday. The camp was conducted by The Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, with Tseminyu district administration, Health & Family Welfare and Social Welfare departments, a DIPR report stated. A total of 68 beneficiaries from Kithagha group received free high-quality assisted living devices.
CTC notifies on trade licence renewal
The Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) has informed all business establishments its jurisdiction that renewal of trade license and fresh registration of firms will be done from February 9 till April 30. Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo, ADC and Executive Officer CTC, directed business establishments to register/renew their trade licences as per Nagaland Municipal Act 2021, Municipal Act Chapter -1 Section 124 (1) (h). Failing to comply, defaulters will be strictly dealt with as per the provisions of the law, the CTC stated.
Body recovered at Diphupar village
The office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, received written information from Diphupar village on Monday stating that an unidentified dead body was found near Central Jail, opposite Shamrock School. On receipt of the information, a duty party rushed to the spot and conducted an inquest upon the dead body. It was observed that there were no visible injury marks, and the cause of death could not be ascertained, Dimapur Police stated in an update. The deceased was around 40 years old with a dark complexion. After completing all legal formalities, the body was shifted to Dimapur District Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The deceased was wearing blue jeans, a black T-shirt, a white hoodie jacket, and a ring on his ring finger. Claimant, relatives or friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge, Diphupar Police Station Chümoukedima (Mobile No. 7085055022).
St. John College hosts workshop on securities market investment
The Department of Economics, St. John College, Dimapur, in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), organised a three-day workshop on ‘Securities Market Investment’ from February 4 to the 6th. The annual workshop, now in its third year, aims to enhance financial literacy among participants, an update stated. NISM Securities Market trainer, Chenio Lotha, led the workshop, sharing his expertise with attendees. The event was coordinated by Khonzanthung, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. The workshop provided a comprehensive understanding of securities market investment. The pre-requisites of investment in securities market, the risks involved, portfolio management techniques were among the topics covered by this workshop. Participants engaged in a financial literacy quiz post-workshop and received certificates, it stated.
