Phangnon, NPF extend Tuluni greetings


DIMAPUR — Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, S Phangnon Konyak, has extended Tuluni greetings to the Sumi community. In a greeting message, Phangnon acknowledged Tuluni as a “beautiful celebration, a season of joy and merry making that exemplifies togetherness, unity and communal harmony.”  The Naga People's Front (NPF) also extended Tuluni greetings to the Siimi community. “Tuluni is a celebration of togetherness, gratitude, and abundance that reflects the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Sumi people. May this festival strengthen the bonds of love and unity, and bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to every household,” the NPF stated in a greeting message.


Naga scholar excels at international conference


DIMAPUR — Kelhoukhrietuo Nagi, a research scholar at Nagaland University's Department of Management, was honoured with the Best Paper Presenter award at the International Conference on ‘Reimagining business management: Innovation, inclusion, and indian knowledge systems.’ The conference was jointly organised by the North Eastern Management Association and Tripura University on July 4-5, stated an update from Nagaland University (NU). The title of his research paper was ‘Assessing the influence of psychological capital on agripreneurial intention among business students in Nagaland.’ The paper was co-authored with his PhD supervisor Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bordoloi, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, NU.


DC Kohima issues traffic restrictions


DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B HenokBuchem, has issued an order stating that, in view of the deteriorating road condition at the old KMC dumping site and the continuous landslides near the old toll tax gate (Welcome to Kohima Gate), only six-wheeler goods carrier trucks will be permitted to ply along the affected stretch of National Highway-29, until further notice.


Nagaland team inducted into BJP


DIMAPUR — A BJP delegation from Nagaland, led by Nagaland State president Benjamin Yepthomi, was formally inducted into the BJP at the party’s national headquarters in New Delhi, on Monday. The delegation was received by national general secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh and BJP national secretary & Prabhari for Nagaland, Anil K Antony, stated an update. “This significant development marks a pivotal step in expanding the BJP’s outreach in the Northeast and reaffirming the party’s commitment to the progress and aspirations of the people of Nagaland. The delegation is scheduled to meet BJP National president JP Nadda at the party headquarters, Delhi.


DC Longleng inspects Yongam landslide


DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, W Manpai Phom, visited the landslide affected site near Yongam village on July 3, to assess the situation.  According to a DIPR report, a massive landslide near Yongam village on July 2, triggered by continuous rain, severed the road link between Mon and Longleng districts. The deputy commissioner inspected the site, assessing the damage and discussing restoration plans with department officials. The district administration is working urgently to restore connectivity as soon as possible. The DC further advised the residents to avoid the route until further notice.


DC Tuensang issues travel advisory


DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, has notified that due to the mudslide and road subsidence at several locations along NH 202 in and around Chare town, movement of heavy and medium vehicles on this stretch have been restricted with immediate effect, until clearance and restoration work is completed. Furthermore, travellers commuting to and from the district have been advised to take the following alternative routes: Trongar-Alisopur-Longmisa-Mokochung; Yangli-New Sangsangmong-Yehemi- Suruhoto, and Tuensang village-Longleng-Changtongya.


Chümoukedima DPDB meeting on July 10


DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima, Polan John, has informed that the monthly Chümoukedima DPDB meeting for the month of July will be held on July 10 at 11 am at DC’s conference hall. All the members have been requested to attend the meeting positively, an official bulletin stated.
