ANCSU informs on PM Scholarship
DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland College Students' Union (ANCSU) has announced that the disbursement of Post Matric Scholarship ST (2nd phase, 2024-25) will begin on or before November 12, as per the Department of Higher Education. In a press release, the union urged all colleges affiliated to ANCSU to abstain from any protest and agitation, appealing for adherence to the Union Assembly Resolution 2017. “The union reaffirms to call for any democratic protest of the day if the department concerned fails to disburse the scholarship within the stipulated time. Further, all the departments and authorities concerned responsible for scholarships requisite procedure and drawal authority, neglecting this matter because of pen-down strike shall be held accountable after due date,” the release stated.
Dimapur Police notify on beggar’s death
DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Police received a telephonic information from District Hospital Dimapur at around 1:50 pm on November 4, stating that a beggar, Raksana (18), had been admitted without any relatives. Intimation was given to Sakhi One Stop Centre. Later, at around 8:20 pm, information was received from DHD that Raksana had expired due to organ failure, the Dimapur Police stated in a press release. The duty party rushed to the hospital, conducted an inquest, and shifted the body to the district hospital morgue for post-mortem examination and identification after completing legal formalities. According to police, the deceased was wearing blue kurta with silver print, covered with brown floral shawl and a small camouflage sling back around the neck.
