Nagaland to host CPA India region conference
DIMAPUR — Nagaland is all set to host the 22nd annual conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentarian Association (CPA), India region zone-III in Kohima from November 9 to the 13th. Nagaland Governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, informed that the Speaker of Lok Sabha, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, secretary general and official from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, speakers, deputy speakers, leader of opposition, members, secretaries and officials from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Tripura legislative assemblies and NERIPSTR would attend the conference as the state guest.
AFHRF seeks completion of Foothills Road phase-2
DIMAPUR — The Aggrieved Foothills Road Forum (AFHRF) representing Bhandari and Changpang areas in Wokha district has expressed disappointment that these areas were excluded from the first phase of the Foothills Road construction citing “resource allocation” as the reason. In a press release, the forum demanded that the two-lane second phase via Bhandari-Changpang areas of Baghty division in Wokha district linking to Mangkolemba division in Mokokchung district be initiated upon completion of the ongoing first phase in December 2025. “Therefore, we urge upon the concerned department of Road & Bridges, Government of Nagaland to take this issue seriously,” the forum stated.
Inter-school sports tournament concludes at SJU
DIMAPUR — The valedictory programme of the first school tournament hub, jointly organised by St. Joseph University (SJU) and DMI St. Joseph Global School, was held on November 7, marking the successful culmination of the inter-school sports tournament. It stated that the event celebrated teamwork spirit, discipline and sportsmanship through exciting competitions in football, volleyball and basketball. Highlight of the ceremony was the declaration of results by Nanglem Konyak from the department of Physical Education, followed by the distribution of medals, certificates, cash prizes and trophies to the winners.
