Business Advisory Committee meeting on August 25
DIMAPUR — Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Chairperson of the Business Advisory Committee Sharingain Longkumer has convened a meeting of the committee on August 25 at 12 noon. According to an official update, the meeting will be held in the C Chongshen Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat. The meeting has been convened to finalise the Provisional Programme for the Ninth Session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, which is scheduled to commence on September 1.
Achumbemo convenes Committee on Environment meeting
Advisor and Chairperson of the Committee on Environment and Climate Change Achumbemo Kikon has convened a meeting on August 18. The meeting is scheduled to be held at 1 pm in the C Chongshen Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat. The meeting has been called for the adoption of the First Comprehensive Report of the Committee on Environment and Climate Change (2026-2027).
ENCSA general session on August 18
A general session-cum-new office bearers' installation programme for the formation of the Eastern Nagaland Contractors' and Suppliers' Association (ENCSA) has been convened on August 18. According to an update from Caretaker Secretary Akong Phom, the meeting is scheduled to take place at 10:30 am at the Saramati Hotel in Dimapur. All Class-I contractors belonging to the Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation areas have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.
NPF condoles demise of Sechenthu Leyri
The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed sorrow over the demise of Sechenthu Leyri, father of S Akho Leyri, Vice President (Adm.) of the NPF, who passed away on August 14. He was 98. In a condolence message on August 14, the party stated that Leyri passed away early in the morning. “The demise of a beloved parent creates a void that cannot be filled. At this hour of grief, the NPF stands in solidarity with S. Akho Leyri and the bereaved family and shares in their sorrow,” it read.
