DIMAPUR — The National Health Mission (NHM), under the Department of Health & Family Welfare, launched the ‘ASHA Connect’ App at the IDSP Conference Hall, Directorate of H&FW, Kohima, on April 24. According to a DIPR report, ASHA Connect is a web-based application to enhance the efficiency, transparency and accountability of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) incentive disbursement and performance monitoring across the State. The implementation of ASHA Connect is expected to significantly reduce delays in incentive payments, improve transparency in financial transactions, enhance monitoring of ASHA activities, and to ensure availability of accurate real time data, thereby strengthening accountability across all levels. The ASHA Connect App was officially launched by Anoop Khinchi, Commissioner & Secretary of H&FW department, and the programme concluded with remarks delivered by Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director, H&FW.
DGC launches civil services study group
The Career Guidance Cell of Dimapur Government College (DGC) launched a new study group on April 24 aimed at helping students preparing for civil services and other allied competitive examinations. According to an update issued by the college, the initiative was introduced for three key reasons. The first was to support economically weaker students who are unable to afford coaching classes or purchase study materials for competitive examinations. The second reason was the need to help students begin preparation for civil services before graduation. Through the programme, the DGC aims to expose students early to the culture of competitive examination preparation while providing proper guidance and training within the college itself. Under the programme, the college plans to develop a well-stocked library, facilitate regular interactions with civil servants, and create a vibrant peer-group “buddy system” to encourage collaborative learning.
