Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): A two-day executive meeting of the North East State Government Employees and Teachers’ United Forum (NESGETUF) will begin on December 12 at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur, at 3 pm. An update from CANSSEA informed that representatives from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura will be attending the meeting. On December 13, the meeting will start at 9 am with the executive member of NEC, Purujit Lairikye, as the chairman.
ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN) organised its Pre-Christmas celebration on December 9 with much excitement and joyous spirits. The first session of the programme was chaired by Vizovotuo Tacu, where the Christmas message was delivered by Tali Lemtur, head of Computer Science department at Tetso College. In order to create awareness during this season of celebration, a Christmas door decoration competition using recycled materials was held. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Avipra, literary and cultural secretary of Students’ Council. Choir competition, performances by the university’s alumni Vikele and friend and a musical piece by Milotoli were other highlights of the programme.
The NDPP 9th Kohima Town AC office bearers along with the advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, visited the Good Samaritan senior citizens’ home in Meriema, Kohima, on December 10. The programme was organised by the NDPP 9th Kohima Town AC and led by the women wing. The party members extended humanitarian services and also held a fellowship with the senior citizens of the centre, an update informed.
The deputy chief minister and BLP leader, Y Patton, has condoled the demise of S Imtichungla, elder sister of Health minister S Pangnyu Phom, who passed away on Sunday. Patton has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed to rest in peace.
Sociology department of St. Joseph University (SJU) comprising 25 students from MA first semester along with two faculty members namely Dr. Besii Kholi and Montu Kumar Daimary visited Grace Mission Orphanage on December 9 as part of its outreach programme. The department in an update stated that the orphanage located at Virazouma in Chümoukedima district is home to around 30 children from various backgrounds. The main motives of the visit were to be with the children, interact with them and understand their perspectives of life. The programme included two sessions including praise and worship and games competition. Founder of Grace Mission Orphanage, Pastor Joshua shared a short story about his life and mission.
