15 pharmacist licenses cancelled in Niuland


DIMAPUR — A joint enforcement drive comprising of the Niuland district administration, Police and Chief Medical Office, Dimapur, led by Asst. Drugs Controller Martemjen Longkumer and DCO Boto Sema, carried out the inspection of pharmacies in the district on Tuesday. The drive was conducted with an aim to regulate pharmacies in accordance with the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940, and Rules, 1945, a DIPR report stated. And as per the order issued by the State Drugs Control Administration, Kohima, 15 pharmacist licences under Niuland district were cancelled due to non-compliance of show cause notice violating Rule 65(2) of D&C Rules 1945 and section 42 of the Pharmacy Act 1948, it stated.

 

Health department bids adieu to 3 officers


DIMAPUR — The Department of Health & Family Welfare bid farewell to Dr. Vezokholu Theyo, Director: Dr. Neisakho Kere, Addl. Director, and Tiatoshi Amer, Joint Drugs Controller on Tuesday. Principal Director of H&FW, Dr. Mereninla Senlem, presented them with citations, acknowledging their contributions, an official update stated. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Sendimeren Aonok, Director (Health and ME). This farewell programme was held at the directorate’s IDSP hall, Kohima


PPC backs Naga Oxford Declaration


DIMAPUR — The Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC), Phomla Hoichem (PH), and Phom Students’ Conference (PSC), unanimously resolved to endorse the Naga Oxford Declaration on Repatriation, as propounded by the Naga tribal leaders on June 13 at the Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford. This was resolved during a joint meeting held on June 24 at VCC & VDB Hall, Longleng, an update stated.


SVSU donates medicines to health centre


DIMAPUR — Following a visit to the Health and Wellness Centre, Seyochung village earlier on June 28, the Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) on Tuesday donated essential medicines to the centre. During the visit, the staff expressed concern about the shortage of essential medicines and provided a list of required items. In response, SVSU collected and donated the medicines as per the list, the union stated in an update. “It is a genuine need,” said the SVSU, stressing the importance of accessible healthcare for the village. The union also called on the community to take part in strengthening the local health sector through cooperation and support.


NSCN (Niki) terminates cadre


DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has terminated ‘Leacy’ Luntinlal Doungel, son of Lalkhosei of Bungsang village under Kuki Region, from active national service for defying the orders of the regional authority and the government, and repeatedly involving in anti-social activities. In a press release, the NSCN (Niki) cited complaints from civil societies and the public as the basis for terminating Doungel, following an in-depth inquiry that revealed him to be a habitual offender involved in multiple offenses. The order (Azha) comes into force with immediate effect, it added.


Unidentified body recovered


DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police on June 30 recovered the body an unidentified male (non-Naga), aged around 40-45 years, from railway siding. A police report stated that an inquest was conducted and there was no evidence of foul play. The body was taken to Dimapur District Hospital’s morgue for postmortem examination after completion of necessary legal formalities. The deceased was wearing blue vest and brown cargo pants. Mass social work in Phek on July 5


DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, has informed that, in compliance to Phek DPDB meeting earlier held on June 12, a mass social work will be held in Phek town on July 5. According to a DIPR report, all government department employees in Phek town have been instructed to clean their respective office premises before July 5, to enable them to participate in the mass social work on July 5.
