Nagaland: New Beisumpui Presbyterian Church celebrates golden jubilee

Dimapur, Jan. 22 (EMN): Presbyterian Church New Beisumpui in Peren district celebrated its golden jubilee on January 17 at the church premises on the the theme “The wonder of God’s love.”

An update from the jubilee celebration committee stated that Rev. Deisaung Pame, moderator of Zeme Presbytery and pastor in-charge of Jalukie pastorate, graced the celebration as minister and unfurled the jubilee flag as well as unveiled the monolith. It also stated that Insamneile Riamme, secretary of women’s relation from the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of India (PCI), Shillong, was the speaker.

During the celebration, Rev. Keyihungbe Pame, pastor in-charge of Kubing pastorate, released the jubilee souvenir, while Rev. Nzuhingbe Pame, pastor in-charge of Kebai pastorate, handed over the jubilee flag to jubilee committee chairman, Ramyibe Riamme.

It mentioned that Presbyterian Church New Beisumpui is the first Presbyterian Church in Nagaland established on May 9, 1971. It added that as the mother church, Presbyterian Church New Beisumpui had helped, nurture and guide several fellowships/ preaching stations to become fledged churches since its establishment. Currently, Zeme Presbyterian Church Nagaland (ZPCN) has 10 churches and 1 fellowship with a total of 1829 members.
