Dimapur, Aug. 29 (EMN): The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) celebrated its 8th fresher’s day on August 26 with the deputy chief medical officer of Dimapur, Dr. Antoly Swu, as the chief guest.
Fr. Lawrence Khing, who was recently appointed as the vice principal and administrator of NEISSR, delivered the welcomed address.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest reiterated on the importance of social services for society in times when social interaction and mental health remain new challenges in post Covid-19 scenario. She further reminded that there is no substitute for hard work.
Fr. CP Anto, principal of NEISSR, congratulated the freshers and welcomed them to the family. He stressed the importance of materialising dreams into reality.
The occasion also marked the induction of the first batch of Bachelor in Social Work (BSW). The seniors have welcomed a total of 125 new students, who have enrolled for MSW and BSW courses.
In the second session, Juli Zhimomi and James Quinker were crowned Mr and Miss Fresher.
