NCSU president advocates farming for sustainability

KOHIMA — President of Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) and class-I contractor, Pele Khezhie, has stressed on the need for Naga people to involve in agricultural activities for food security and economic uplift.

Working along with the villagers of Viphoma village in paddy sowing and other crop plantation at his farm along Dzudza River in Viphoma on June 10, Khezhie said Nagaland is blessed with fertile soil with potential of growing any crop and fruits. He, therefore, stressed that Naga people should involve in agricultural activities in order to be self-reliant and enhance the economy of the state in order to compete with the rest of the country.

Other than paddy, Khezhie along with the villagers also planted tamul, litchi and lemon saplings.
