
Dimapur, Feb. 4 (EMN): Nagaland chapter of the National Domestic Workers’ Movement (NDWM), with support from Hilton Sisters, distributed blankets to 25 domestic workers on February 4.
Speaking at a brief function, NDWM Nagaland coordinator, Sr. Pramila, enlightened on the issues of domestic work focusing on gender based violence. She stated that the vulnerable group of people became prey to the violence of different types because they are women who suffer silently on several occasions.
She also encouraged them to avail opportunities provided in the form of Sakhi one stop centre, NDWM Nagaland region or any other. They were asked to stay united and strengthen the ANDWU registered under Trade Union Act.
Sr. Geeta enlightened on the four classification of rights and encouraged them to enroll their child in the CRM groups, while Vanbeni Yanthan enlightened on the roles and functions and the benefits enrolling themselves with the organisation.
