Dimapur, March 25 (EMN): Table top exercise for mock drill on earthquake was held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Longleng, on March 24 under the chairperson of Pichano Kikon, EAC Longleng.
Speaking at the programme, Pichano welcomed the members and appealed to all the departments to come and participate in the table top exercise and also in the mock drill for awareness and preparation, a DIPR report stated.
Briefing on table top exercise and mock drill, Thejangulie Zao, nodal officer of disaster management of Longleng, highlighted that table top exercise was a discussion and preparedness to conduct mock drill the following day. Briefing on the incident response system (IRS), he has described it as an important structure in assigning the roles and responsibilities of every government agencies to play their respective roles and not to create confusions when actual disaster happens in the future.
He informed that IRS is a flexible system, which could be changed or rearranged depending on the needs and situation of the district. He urged the gathering to come forward and take part in the table top exercise and discussion and play their respective roles and responsibilities accordingly during the mock drill exercise.
It was decided that the mock drill would be held at the DC’s office complex, Longleng, on March 25 from 11 am.
