
Dimapur, July 15 (EMN): Advisor of IT and Communication, Science and Technology, New and Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon, gave away certificates to the artisans under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 3.0) during a programme held at by Cane Concept on July 14.
PMKVY 3.0 is a flagship skilling scheme launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in a bid to empower the country’s youth with employable skills.
Chairman of Socvima Village Council, Sebastin Zumvu; executive member of Handicrafts and Carpet Sector Skill Council (HCSSC), Jesmina Zeliang; and director of Cane Concept, Aku Zeliang, were among the dignitaries who were present during the event.
Jesmina Zeliang has welcomed Mmhonlumo Kikon and took a tour through the training centre where approximate 2600 artisans have been trained through Industry-based training programme and subsequently employed in various industries.
It mentioned that artisans were taught bamboo-based Christmas decorative products which would be exported in the international market soon. During his interaction with the artisans and felicitation ceremony, Kikon expressed his delight over the magnificent art and skill performed by the local artisans and expressed his desire to promote traditional industries based on local art and skill to mark the exponential growth of handicraft industries of Nagaland.
