
Dimapur, Feb. 21 (EMN): Minister of Soil and Water Conservation and Geology and Mining, V Kashiho Sangtam, inaugurated the Jan Shikshan Sansthan Centre in Kiphire on February 16.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Kashiho stated that drop-out students could avail free vocational training through the JSS programme. He advised the trainees to not only acquire diploma certificates but also gain knowledge so as to set up one's own business for self-employment, a DIPR report stated.
He further encouraged the drop-out students to spread information about the programme in the rural areas.
Chairman of JSSK board of management, Pankaj Kumar, while highlighting the aim of the programme, informed that JSS's main objective is to provide free vocational training to skill the drop-out students and help them create new opportunities. He also stated that the JSS centre would be opened in Pungro and Seyochung soon as well as in rural areas.
The guest of honour from Mahatma Gandhi Fellowship, Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurs, Suknya, spoke about the skill development objectives and its activities.
