KOHIMA — A state-wide Mega Job Fair 2026 offering 6,456 vacancies across multiple sectors will be held on March 21 at the Integrated Business Hub and Innovation Centre, Dimapur, from 9.30 am onwards, but only 326 candidates have registered so far, officials said on Monday.
The event is being organised by the Nagaland Skills and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM) in collaboration with NIELIT Kohima.
This was announced during a press conference addressed by I Changsang, Undersecretary and Project Manager-in-charge of NSEDM; Moasunep Kichu, Technical Officer and Placement Officer at NIELIT; and Meripeni, Undersecretary and Project Lead, NSEDM, at the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) office in Kohima.
The officials said that the initiative aims to address the growing unemployment problem in the state by connecting job seekers with employers.
The job fair will feature vacancies across sectors including automotive and driving, aviation, construction, carpentry, electrical, infrastructure, plumbing, culinary, finance, accounting, healthcare, healthcare IT, hospitality, hydrocarbon, logistics, transportation, management, corporate services, manufacturing, fabrication, retail, technical services, agriculture and engineering.

However, they expressed concern over the low number of registrations, stating that only 326 candidates had registered so far.
They urged unemployed youth in the state to take advantage of the opportunity, adding that NSEDM hopes to make the job fair an annual event.
However, they cautioned that poor participation could discourage recruiters from returning in future editions.
According to the organisers, 33 employers have registered to participate so far. These include local, domestic and international employers.
They assured that all international recruiters participating in the event are licensed under the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), ensuring transparency and safety for candidates seeking overseas employment.
They also encouraged parents to motivate their children to participate in the job fair.
Registration for the job fair is free and can be done online through the portal: https://www.nsedm.in/jobfair
Candidates can apply for up to three job vacancies of their choice.
While on-site registration will be allowed on the day of the event, officials encouraged pre-registration to facilitate better coordination between candidates and employers.
Registered candidates will also be automatically added to a WhatsApp group for further communication.
The organisers added that certain job opportunities are also open to school dropouts and candidates with Class 10 or lower qualifications.
To help candidates prepare, NSEDM plans to organise grooming sessions prior to the job fair, both in physical and online formats.
For candidates appearing for online interviews, support centres will be available at NIELIT Kohima, Meriema (below the new High Court complex); NIELIT Kohima Extension Centre, Chuchuyimlang, Mokokchung; and NIELIT Kohima Study Centre at SP Office Compound, Mokokchung.
