  [caption id="attachment_261844" align="alignleft" width="300"] EM representational sketch on Rape[/caption] Our Correspondent Kohima, July 22 (EMN): An accused, who was on trial for rape and murder, reportedly managed to escape on Monday while he was being taken to the district TB centre in Kohima for medical check up. According to a reliable source, the accused identified as Sabir Ahmed was on trial for allegedly raping and murdering a 51-year-old woman from Khonoma village in Kohima, in March last year. He was arrested by the Nagaland Police from Aizawl in Mizoram, and a case was registered against him at the Women Police Station in Kohima. He was being kept in the district jail since last year, according to the source. Kohima police has launched a manhunt, it was informed.
