
KOHIMA — Lhisemia Students’ Union (LSU), on Saturday, conducted its 4th annual literary day at KVC Hall in Kohima village.
A press release issued by the organisers informed that Ayie Yhome, chairman of Lhisemia Council, attended the programme as the special guest and exhorted the students to be hard working and make the best use of their talents.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]He has appreciated the organisers for giving platforms to the students at tender age to explore and hone their talents, which he said would bring about positive impact for the society.
Yhome advised the students that talent is a gift from God, which cannot be borrowed by another person. He, however, warned that arrogance could make a person misuse and lose its worth. In this regard, he told the students to live a life of humility and dignity.
The chairman also asked the participants to obey their parents. Stating that it has become difficult to secure government job in this fast evolving era, yet he stated that there is still a scope for talented people to make the best use of them in various sectors.
He further advised the students to make wise decisions and cautioned not succumbed to peer pressure.
Dzüvinguzo Mepfhüo, convenor of LSU 75 years jubilee celebration organising committee, in his introductory remarks, stated that an event is organised every month to mark the celebration.
It informed that the winners would represent LSU during the 'Spero Meliora,' an annual literary event, organised by the Kohima Village Students’ Union and Dolphin Club.
In the solo singing competition (category-1) for students from classes 2 to 5, Neisemenuo Kesiezie secured the first prize, while the second prize was won by Kechalanuo Liezietsu.
In the solo singing competition (category 2) for students from classes 6 to 10,
Visaleü Mepfhüo won the first prize, while the second and third prizes were won by Keneingunuo Liezietsu and Pekrubeinuo Noudi.
In the essay writing competition (English), the first prize was won by Keduovinuo Sorhie, while the second and third prizes were won by Kikrukhrienuo Vizo and Menguneinuo.
In the essay writing competition (Tenyidie), the first prize was won by Khriengusanuo, while the second and third prizes were won by Khrievosanuo Yhome and Visesienuo Dzüvichü.
In elocution, the first prize was won by Nouneser Sorhie, while the second and third prizes were won by Keviwetuo Dzüvichü and Kikruneinuo Khruomo.
In the drawing competition (category 1 for students from classes A-1), the first prize was won by Luotuonuo Lucy Dzüvichü, while the second and third prizes were won by Kevilhousier Liezietsu and Virazeü Liezietsu.
In the drawing competition (category 2 for students from classes 2-5), the first prize was won by Viphruosatuo Dzüvichü, while the second and third prizes were won by Dzieseneinuo Mepfhüo and Khriezonuo Linyü.
