Nagaland lose to Tripura in NE Little Masters Trophy

  • DIMAPUR — Tripura registered a six-wicket victory over Nagaland in their group stage match of the 1st NE Little Masters Trophy 2025, held at the ACA Cricket Academy Ground, Fulung, Guwahati.

  • According to an update after being asked to bat, Nagaland were dismissed for 72 runs in 30.1 overs. Eric Rupreo was the only batter to make a significant contribution, scoring 25 from 21 balls. However, he received little support from the rest of the batting line-up.

  • Tripura’s bowling attack, led by Bihan Das, dominated proceedings. Das returned excellent figures of 4 for 7 in six overs, playing a crucial role in dismantling Nagaland’s top and middle order.

  • Chasing 73 for victory, Tripura reached the target in 15.1 overs, finishing at 74 for 4. Sriman Debnath anchored the innings with an unbeaten 34 off 21 balls, ensuring a smooth finish despite the early loss of wickets.

  • Eric Rupreo also impressed with the ball, taking 2 for 10 in six overs, but Nagaland’s low total left them with little chance of defending.

  • Bihan Das was named Player of the Match for his match-winning spell of 4 for 7.
