- DIMAPUR — Nagaland
will likely experience light rainfall and cloudy moderate rain in almost all
the districts till April 24, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA)
stated in a weather update on Thursday.
- According to the NSDMA, these showers may be accompanied by
thunderstorms and lightning in isolated places. Tuensang district may, however,
experience heavy rainfall on April 20 and the 21st.
- “As a result, it is vital to take the necessary measures at
this period to avoid lightning strikes and high winds which can disrupt
communication and connectivity.
- “Due to the risk of high precipitation in the hill sector,
the state’s lowland and foothill districts, including Dimapur, Niuland,
Chümoukedima, Bhandari, Baghty, Tizit, and Tuli, are vulnerable to inundated
waterlogging and flash floods,” the update stated.
