
Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): The first session of the 64th general session of the Yachem Students’ Union (YSU) commenced on December 19 with Dr. Chingmei Phonglung Avennoho, assistant professor at Nagaland Baptist College, Dimapur, as the speaker.
Speaking on the topic ‘Reimagining the future,’ Dr. Chingmei stressed on the importance of not just dwelling on the future but also to re-examine the past and present scenarios. She encouraged the younger generation to have purpose in life saying that life without passion and vision would be futile.
She also implored the gathering not to be bogged down by hardships and trials but rather to fix their eyes and thoughts on God and surrender their desires to Him. Dr. Chingmei also encouraged the younger generation to believe in their God-gifted talents and capabilities and to cement their dreams and passion in the word of God.
Speaking on the topic ‘Wrestle until your testimony is in your hands’ in the second service, she encouraged the congregation to be stubborn, resilient and courageous in pursuit of their dreams and passions.
The speaker also mentioned about the impediment she had to undergo as a child and how she overcame her fear. She asked the youth not to give up on their dreams because of the fear of losing.
She further stated that certain opportunities come only once in a lifetime and implored the youth not to miss any opportunity that come along their way because “fear can only be defeated with action.”
On December 20 and 21, sports event were held where various competitions such as volleyball, futsal, banana eating and traditional games were held, the update stated.
