Kohima, Dec. 19 (EMN): A one-day Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) special session will be held today from 9:30 am.
This will be the tenth session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and is being necessitated following the meeting of the Core-committee of the Parliamentary Committee on Naga political issue on December 9.
Following the recent Oting killings and the people's appeal to do away with the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, the decision to convene the assembly was formalised and subsequently the Governor of Nagaland had summoned the tenth session.
During the one-day special session, the August House of the 13th NLA is likely to pass a resolution to repeal AFSPA from the state.
Meanwhile, the businesses as decided by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will include assent to bills; introduction of government resolutions; discussion, consideration and adoption of government resolutions.
