Nagaland Legislative Assembly budget session begins on Monday
The budget session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will commence on Monday and run till March 8
- KOHIMA — The budget session of the 14th
Nagaland Legislative Assembly, which commences on Monday and runs till March 8,
will see discussions on policy matters, budgetary allocations, and legislative
business.
- The first day of the session, March 3, will be addressed by
the governor, marking the beginning of a crucial legislative period, followed
by obituary references and a motion of thanks to the Governor's Address.
- On March 4, key legislative activities will take place,
including the laying of annual administrative reports, presentation of Assembly
committee reports, introduction of government bills, and the debate on the
motion of thanks to the Governor’s Address.
- The day will also see the presentation of a review on
financial trends and supplementary demands for grants for the fiscal year
2024-25.
- A recess is scheduled for March 5.
- The session will resume on March 6 with discussions on
matters of urgent public importance, consideration and passing of government
bills, and the much-anticipated presentation of the state budget for 2025-26 by
the Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, who also holds the charge of Finance.
- The next session on March 7 will feature private members'
business, discussions on urgent public matters, and the general discussion on
the 2025-26 budget.
- On March 8, the session will conclude with the presentation
of the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) report, discussions, and
voting on supplementary demands for grants.
