Kohima, Feb. 19 (EMN):
The 7th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) was adjourned sine die on Friday evening, bringing the five-day budget session that began on February 12, to an end.

Delivering his concluding remarks, NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer said that besides Governor’s address to the assembly, the House was engaged in “fruitful discussion” on several matters of public importance, including the Naga political issue and developmental projects.

“The discussion on Naga political issue and our conviction transcending political affiliations to pass a unanimous resolution to it will be recorded as a milestone to the journey of our state,” Longkumer said.

A four-point resolution on Naga political issue was unanimously passed and adopted by the House on February 18 after Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio introduced it and seconded by Leader of Opposition, TR Zeliang.

The NLA speaker thanked all the members of the House, Assembly Secretariat staff, various departments, police and security personnel, and medical team, among others, for the smooth conduct of the session. He expressed positivism to meet without Covid scare in the next session.

Longkumer then adjourned the session "sine die," mentioning that there "is no other business in the House".
