Dimapur, Aug. 23 (EMN): Land Owners’ Union NH-29 (Purana Bazaar to Chümoukedima) has decided to file a case in the court of law against what it termed as ‘government’s apathetic behaviour’ towards the land compensation issue pertaining to NH-29 road widening from Purana Bazaar- Chumoukedima.

The union information secretary, Kewetso Kenye, stated that the Guahati High Court, Kohima Bench, had passed judgement in favour of the union through its order No. W.P(C) No.98 (K) 2000 passed on dated 25/09/2000.

The union further stated that it had approached the government on three occasions and submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, through its letter dated 01/05/2019; a representation to the Commissioner Nagaland through its letter dated 18/06/2019; and a representation to the Chief Secretary Nagaland through its letter dated 15/07/2019.

Alleging government’s indifferent attitude, the union has decided to file a case in the court after one week from the date of publication of this notice. The union urged the public to understand its stand and not construe it otherwise.
