DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) has reaffirmed its sole commitment to peace and reconciliation, guided by the biblical principles of truth, justice and mercy. It emphasised that reconciliation is not an option but a calling and that the church must stand as a witness of hope in times of division.
The Forum made this reaffirmation during a meeting with the United Naga Council (UNC), Manipur, on May 11. The meeting was called to seek understanding of the present conflict with the Kuki community and to discern ways to end violence at the earliest.

It acknowledged the painful realities of the current situation, noting that no matter how daunting the challenges might appear, peace must be given a chance. As people of one faith living as neighbours, NJCF urged all communities to resist the temptation of demonising one another, noting that as such actions only deepen wounds and benefit no one.
NJCF also informed UNC that it would soon be meeting with the Kuki Inpi to continue dialogue and to strengthen efforts toward healing and unity.
Meanwhile, NJCF has appealed to all leaders, communities and individuals to join hands in bringing healing to the region. The further asserted that reconciliation is the path to a future where justice and mercy embrace.
