Dimapur, July 27 (EMN): The Nagaland Health Project of the directorate of Health & Family Welfare conducted a three-day meeting from May 23 to the 25th in Kohima. The meeting was conducted to review project activities and their progress in the state, a press release from the organisers on Saturday informed.
During the course of the meeting, members of the district project management units of the 11 districts of the state gave reports of their activities, progress, and achievements, the updates stated. Further, they highlighted the ‘hurdles’ they face during implementation at the grassroots level.
Discussions and deliberations on the issues brought forward by the district project management units marked the three-day meeting, the updates stated.
On the opening day of the event, the project director of the National Health Project, Dr. Vizolie Z Suokhrie gave the keynote address. The medical officer urged the health workers to observe, identify and ‘document innovative ideas and good practices’ that they encounter during field work, the press release stated.
Suokhrie encouraged the Nagaland Health Project team to ‘work selflessly towards strengthening the health service delivery in Nagaland and be agents of change in transforming the health scenario of Nagaland.’
On the issue of ‘gaps and challenges’ the health workers and teams are facing, Suokhrie asked the district teams to explore all platforms and opportunities to ensure smooth implementation of the project. He assured them all possible support from his establishment, the updates stated.
The additional project director of the Nagaland Health Project, Dr. Atoshe Sema also spoke at the event, the updates stated. He urged the Nagaland Health Project team to promote the development activities of the NHP that are ‘taking place across the state.’
The updates explained that the Nagaland Health Project is a World Bank-funded project implemented by the department of Health & Family Welfare. It works towards improving health services and increase their utilization besides brining health infrastructure development in Nagaland, the updates stated.
