- DIMAPUR — With an
objective to strengthen implementation of Elimination of Vertical Transmission
of HIV and Syphilis (EVTHS) programme among pregnant and breastfeeding women on
mission mode approach, a meeting of director, health and NSACS officials was
held on Friday under the chairmanship of Anoop Khinchi, commissioner and
secretary of Health and Family Welfare and chairman of Nagaland State AIDS
Control Society (NSACS).
- An update from NSACS stated that Dr. M Nukshisangla Jamir,
joint director of NSACS, made a powerpoint presentation on the current progress
of EVTHS implementation.

- The meeting discussed at length key points such as universal
early screening of HIV and Syphilis for all pregnant women, prompt linkage to
care and treatment, strengthening care for HIV and Syphilis exposed infants,
integrated comprehensive stigma-free maternal and child care, training and
sensitisation of concerned service providers and data-driven decision making.
