
Resource person along with the health officials during a
workshop on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013 in Kohima on April
22.
- DIMAPUR — The Directorate of Health and Family
Welfare (DHFW) has organised awareness workshop on the Prevention of Sexual
Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013, on April 22 at its conference hall in Kohima. The
workshop was conducted with the initiative of Internal Complaint Committee
(ICC) of the department to promote awareness and for compliance with the Act.
- An update from the department stated that the programme,
chaired by its additional director Dr. Vezokholu Theyo, began with an
invocation prayer said by Dr. Khelito Zhimomi, joint director.
- The session featured a detailed presentation by resource
person Sunjib Rana, B. Com, LLM, advocate and retainer lawyer with the Kohima
District Legal Services Authority. He highlighted the legal safeguards and
responsibilities under the POSH Act and encouraged active participation in
creating a safe work environment for all.

- To ensure inclusive participation, the workshop was
conducted in three shifts namely for drivers and Grade IV staff (regular and
Adhoc), ministerial staff (regular and Adhoc) and officials from NHM, NSACS,
NHP, AYUSH, Drug Control, Pharmacist Cell, IDSP, EE Wing, NHPS, IEC and food
safety.
