Dimapur, Nov. 8 (EMN): Nagaland has a total of 31402 teachers teaching at primary, upper primary, secondary, higher secondary level (government and private schools) with pupil-teacher ratio of 14:1.
According to the state-wise highlights of the UDISE+ 2021-22 data, the pupil teacher ratio (PTR) by level of school education showed that at primary level (class 1 to 5) the pupil teacher ratio stood at 11, upper primary (class 6 to 8) at 8, secondary level (class 9-10) at 10 and higher secondary level (class 11-12) at 17.
Out of 31402 school teachers, 19057 were government school teachers and 12339 were teachers in private unaided recognised schools, and 6 were teachers in others schools, while 13954 consisted of male teachers and 17448 female teachers.
Out of 31402 teachers, 6938 teaches in primary level, 8623 in upper primary level, 14129 in secondary level and 1712 higher secondary level.
Nagaland has a total of 2718 schools, out of which 1157 are primary schools, 787 upper primary schools, 576 secondary, 198 higher secondary and out of 2718 schools, 1960 are government schools, 757 are private schools and one other.
The report stated that out of 2718 schools in Nagaland, 1982 schools have playground, 1966 schools have library and 34 schools have digital library.
Further, the data also showed that out of 2718 schools, 2074 have electricity facility but only 1824 schools has functional electricity, while 227 schools have solar panel and a total of 1383 schools have internet facility.
