DIMAPUR — Nagaland has five ongoing projects
under the schemes of North Eastern Council (NEC) administered and overseen by
the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region in the sector of Science
and Technology worth INR 17.35 crore.
As per the project dashboard of Ministry of Development of
North Eastern Region, the two projects of afforestation of denuded Hills in
Peren and Phek district was sanctioned on March 27, 2022 with an approved cost
of INR 3 crore and INR 3.0007 crore respectively, which were scheduled for
completion on March 27 and March 31, 2025 respectively.
The third project is for implementation of 10 Plan of Action
(PoA) projects finalised as per NESAC Society meeting held on January 23, 2021
for the state of Nagaland, which was sanctioned on March 28, 2022 worth INR
3.6573, while the project is scheduled for completion on March 31, 2026.
The fourth project under NEC is preparation of geo-spatial
plan for governance and sustainable development for the state of Nagaland.
Nagaland GIS and Remote Sensing Centre was sanctioned on March 14, 2023 worth
INR 4.8 crore.
The project is scheduled for completion on March 14, 2026
and as on March 31, 2024, financial expenditure of INR 2.8186 crore has been
utilised.
The fifth project was computerisation networking and
modernisation of Nagaland Legislative Assembly. It was sanctioned on April 29,
2016 at an approved cost of INR 2.89 crore and scheduled for completion on
April 29, 2019.
As on March 31, 2024, financial expenditure of INR 2.601
crore has been utilized. However, as per the project dashboard of Ministry of
Development of North Eastern Region, it still shows as ongoing.
