Dimapur, June 5 (EMN): Nagaland state has a total of 100 water harvesting pond for irrigation augmentation under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana with a total cost of INR 90 lakh as of 2021-2022.
According to the report, a total of 65 villages in Nagaland were covered under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana Water Harvesting Pond (RKVY WHP), with Zunheboto district having the most, with 18 water harvesting ponds (WHPs) covering 18 villages at a cost of INR 16.2 lakh, followed by Mon with 11WHPs covering five villages at a cost of INR 9.9 lakh.
Dimapur, Mokokchung, Phek, Tuensang, and Wokha are developing 11 WHPs each, covering a total of 27 villages at a cost of INR 40.5 lakh, while Kohima, Peren, and Kiphire are developing seven WHPs each, covering a total of 13 villages at a cost of INR 18.9 lakh, and Longleng district is developing five WHPs covering two villages at a cost of INR 4.5 lakh.

Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) was launched during 2007-08 by Government of India with the objective of the programme were to extent support in achieving 4 % annual growth rate in agriculture sector by Government of India during the 11th Five Year Plan.
