
Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): A fourteen-day state handloom expo, organised by the Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) at Urban Haat got underway on September 16. The handloom expo was inaugurated by NHHDC chairman, Miathou Krose, and sponsored by the office of the Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles.
An update from NHHDC stated that a total of 60 participants from Assam, Manipur, and other districts of Nagaland are taking part in the expo by exhibiting varieties of handloom products.
The main aim and objective of the exhibition was to develop and promote marketing channels in domestic and export markets and bring about linkage between the two in a holistic and integrated manner. It was also expected to provide marketing opportunities to handloom workers with special focus on talented and uncovered weavers.
