Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): The Advisor, School Education, KT Sukhalu, IAS (Retd.) has said that the government of Nagaland is working on empowering the youth’s marketable skills to access labour market and also invest in their skill development.
Sukhalu said this while addressing the students of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama during the Graduation Day celebration at the College Indoor Stadium on July 20. He was the special guest of the programme, according to an update from DIPR.
While pointing out that Nagaland has the highest percentage of government employees in the country as per the population, he said the state government is determined to promote entrepreneurship, sports and various other platforms through various schemes. He advised the graduates to stay focussed on what they want in life and choose their path wisely.
He said that each one has a role to play in contributing and building the State’s economy. He also assured the students that the government is committed to sanction scholarships on time.
The School Education advisor encouraged the students to preserve their culture and customs.
He also cautioned them about the harmful effects of social media, especially spreading of false messages and urged them to use the platform wisely.
Principal of St. Joseph’s College, Dr. Fr. Sebastian Ousepparampil speaking during the occasion encouraged the graduates to reach out and help the State and country and be a proud delegate of the institute.
Around 900 students 2016-19 batch graduated. The winner of the Best Graduate title, Kedoseno Rino, also spoke during the event. Sukhalu gave away the meritorious awards to the graduates and some of the successful past students of the institute.
