Nand Kishore Yadav reviewed the Tribal Affairs Department's programmes, EMRS progress and infrastructure projects.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Thursday chaired a review meeting of the Tribal Affairs Department at Lok Bhavan, Kohima, to assess the department's ongoing programmes, achievements and future plans.
According to a press release from Lok Bhavan, the department made a comprehensive presentation on its functioning, major schemes, infrastructure projects and the status of their implementation across the state.
Officials presented details of budget allocations and the progress of key schemes, including those under Article 275(1), the Development Action–Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) and the Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAAGY). The Governor also reviewed the status of completed and ongoing community infrastructure projects aimed at benefiting tribal areas.
The meeting further reviewed the progress of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in the state.
Officials informed that three EMRSs are currently functional with a total enrolment of 751 students. All three schools recorded a 100 per cent pass rate in the HSLC Examination 2026.

The governor was also apprised of the progress in the construction of new EMRS campuses across various districts.
Officials highlighted challenges affecting timely completion of the projects, including land-related issues, inadequate power and water connectivity, and the lack of approach roads.
Emphasising the need for effective implementation of tribal development programmes, Yadav called for the timely completion of infrastructure projects and efficient utilisation of available resources to ensure that the benefits of development reach the intended beneficiaries.
He also stressed the importance of close monitoring, transparency and coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to promote the holistic development of tribal communities across Nagaland.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Tribal Affairs Department and officials from the Governor's Secretariat.
