Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav urged students to overcome hesitation, embrace challenges and pursue excellence at the 32nd Spero Meliora Literary Competitive Programme in Kohima.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav has urged students to overcome hesitation, take initiative and face challenges with confidence, saying success in a rapidly changing world depends on the ability to think independently, communicate effectively and adapt to change.
Yadav was speaking as the special guest at the 32nd Spero Meliora Literary Competitive Programme, held on Saturday at the Kohima Village Multipurpose Building, Ziekezou.
According to an update from PRO, Lok Bhavan, Kohima, the programme was organised by the Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU) and the Dolphin Club, Kohima village, on the theme “Break the Ice and Steal a March.”
Addressing the gathering, the governor said the motto “Spero Meliora,” meaning “I hope for better things,” reflects the aspirations of students striving for excellence.
He said hope inspires achievement, while perseverance and character pave the way for success.

Quoting Swami Vivekananda, Yadav urged the students to “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached,” and encouraged them to seize opportunities, embrace challenges and pursue excellence.
The governor said literary competitions play an important role in developing confidence, critical thinking and the ability to express ideas clearly.
He encouraged students and participants to remain curious, read widely and pursue their dreams with confidence, integrity and humility.
Yadav also emphasised that true success is measured not only by personal achievements but also by the positive impact one makes on others.
He congratulated the KVSU and the Dolphin Club for successfully organising the 32nd edition of the programme and commended the teachers, parents and volunteers for their efforts in nurturing the talents and character of young people.
The governor wished all the participants success and congratulated the organisers on another memorable edition of the Spero Meliora programme.
The annual literary programme has been encouraging and nurturing the literary talents of students for more than three decades, the update stated.
