Dimapur, April 19 (EMN): In the wake of Covid-19 pandemic getting worse in the country, Nagaland Governor RN Ravi had an interaction-cum-consultative meeting with Church leaders of various Christian denominations in the state at Dr. Imkongliba Hall, Raj Bhavan in Kohima, on Monday.

While discussing the Covid situation in the country and the state, Ravi urged the Church leaders to “save our people from the pandemic” by using their moral and spiritual authority, as well as influence over the people, stated an update from the Raj Bhavan.

The governor advised the gathering ‘to make the people more conscious and aware of the Covid-19 challenges and need for strictly adhering to the Covid-19 appropriate behaviour’.

Expressing concern over inhibition of the people to take vaccination caused by rumours around it, he advised the church leaders ‘to educate and encourage the eligible persons to go for vaccination as the current ratio of inoculation in the State is one of the lowest in the country’.

‘In this extraordinary situation where the entire society is facing the stress due to Covid-19 pandemic, the governor reminded the Church of their significant role,’ read the press release. Ravi also thanked “the Church leaders for their valuable suggestions which will be forwarded to the government for follow-up”.
